Mal.Mohammed Saidu Etsu,(36),who is aspiring for the National Chairmanship of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), says he is most suitable to contest and occupy the exalted seat of the party

Etsu, who is an aide to Niger state Governor, stated this in Minna when formally declared his intent to contest the party’s number one seat on Monday.

Our Correspondent reports that the governor’s aide is challenging Senator Sani Musa (Sani 313), also from Niger state who has also declared his intent to contest the chairmanship seat, adding that both aspirants have received the Governor’s endorsement.

Etsu promised to rebrand the APC to instill party supremacy above individual members and as well build strong internal democracy with a reward system for distinguished party members.

He made the declaration at the state APC secretariat where he solicited the support and blessing of members as he presents himself for the national office, accompanied by over a hundred youths endorsing his candidature.

The aspirant told the state party chairman, Haliru Zakari Jikantoro, with groups of youths chanting the slogan, ‘APC Re-set Agenda’ and a banner with the same inscription, that he was on a mission to move the party from its current stagnation to enviable heights.

He said,”Nigeria is currently in dire need of genuine change for the party and it is only a young vibrant, visionary, experience and non sentimental candidate like me can build an APC of Nigerian’s dream.”

The aspirant, who commended President Muhammadu Buhari for signing into law,the ‘Not-Too- Young-to-Run’ Bill, a developmnt he noted was an indication of the confidence he had on Nigerian youths, solicited the support and blessings of the party ahead of the national convention.

Jikantoro, in his response, encouraged the national chairmanship aspirant to also intimate the state party leader and Governor of the state, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello of his aspiration.

While assuring the aspirant of hundred per cent support and loyalty to the Governor’s directive, Jikantoro reminded Etsu that youths had proved their worth by holding strategic positions and had been the ones determining election results due to their population and urged him to remain focused to ensure the success of his aspiration.
