Works resume on Ganaja road in Kogi,road users urge speedy completion

The prayer by motorists and other road users plying Ganaja road in Kogi State, to the effect that reconstruction works on the 7-kilometre road will be completed this is year, is fast being
answered, given the progress of work by the contractors on the facility since the beginning of 2022.

Our Correspondent who visited the road on Friday reports that contractors have carried out substantial work from Baptist High School, 200 unit junction, new Gadumo village/Anebo quarters up to 500 housing estate vicinity.

The Reporters gathered that due to pressure from various segments of the population in the state, efforts were being made by the contractors to have effective presence from 500 housing estate to finish the job at Ganaja village.

The online publication recalls that the federal government commenced the rehabilitation work on the road November 2021 with the promise to finish the work within a short time, but this could not to be as the work suffered delay due to what some members of the public attributed to “Nigerian factor”.

Some road users, who spoke with the our Correspondent on the issue expressed delight on the resumption of work on the road but urged contractors to sustain the tempo to ensure completion of work on time, to ease the difficulty facing motorists making use of the road.

Ganaja road is very strategic to the social and economic development of the state as it serves as a link road between the state and many states in eastern and southern as well as northern parts of the country, regarding movement of people and goods.
