The Police Command in Kaduna state says its men killed one Kidnapper, arrested a notorious kidnapper and 4 others for alleged cattle restling and recovered many cows,as the fight against criminals intensifies in the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Police Command in the state,ASP Muhammed Jalige, disclosed this in a statement made available to The Reporters on Wednesday Lokoja.
Accordibg to Jalige, the command achieved the feat following credible intelligence report pointing to the fact that an 18-seater bus was conveying suspected rustled cows to unidentify destination along Barde –Keffi road.
He said upon receipt of the intel, operatives of the command attached to Kafanchan Division swung into action and succeeded in intercepting the said vehicle and arrested the five suspects.
The police image maker gave the names of the suspects as: suspects; “(1) Dahiru Usman M (Driver) (2) Jibrin Idris m of Toro LGA Bauchi State (3) Musa Isiya m (4) Anas Dahiru m and (5) Hussaini Damina M of Damina Village, a notorious Kidnapper who have been on the Command’s wanted list and recovered thirteen (13) rustled Cows.
“In the course of investigation, the suspects confessed to the crime while the owner of the cows was identified as one Dahiru Bala m of uddah Village and the cattle were handed over to him accordingly,” he said.
The command, he added, also recorded another success against the Kidnappers in another instance when its men foiled kidnap attempt and neutralised one bandit in Zaria.
The PPRO further disclosed that the police went after the kidnappers while responding to distress call, through the Divisional Police officer Zaria City, that some Bandits in large number invaded the residence of one Muhammed Sani of Nagoyi Quarters, Zaria, in their desperate attempt to kidnap the occupant of the House.
“On getting the information, the team of Police men alongside members of vigilant services,led by the DPO,rushed to area and engaged the bandits in a gun duel as a result of which one bandit was neutralized while others took to their heels with bullet wounds, abandoning their mission.The corpse has been deposited at ABU Teaching Hospital, Shika.
“The Command is soliciting support from the public to report any person with suspected bullet injury to the nearest Police formation for prompt action,” according to Jalige.
