Members of the various committees set up for the burial of Pioneer, President Customary Court of Appeal, FCT,Judiciary,late Justice Moses Bello, said they were up to their game in ensuring the success of the burial for the legal luminary, coming up next Saturday in Okene, kogi state.
The Reporters recalls that Justice Bello, an icon of the legal profession, illustrious son of Ebiraland and an indigene of Adavi Local Governnent Area of Kogi State, died recently during an illness.
Our Correspondent, who has been monitoring the progress of work by the committees, reports that members have embarked on series of meetings and brain storming sessions as well executing their respective roles with the aim of achieving a seamless occasion.
Finding by the online publication also revealed that the concerted efforts of the members have attracted the attention of the Federal Road Maintenance Agency and Kogi State Road Maintenance Agency,whose staff gave urgent palliative attention to the bad portion of roads leading to the venue of the ceremony.
Members of the protocol Committee were also sighted at the venue of the proposed event, putting finishing touches to their assignment to ensure a conductive environment.
The Media Committee is not left behind as its members have intensified effort in informing the public about the planned burial, through jingles, announcements placement of advertisements
They have also have ardorned bill boards and banners showing the pictures of the deceased at the various strategic streets in Okene and its environs.
On roads, the chairman, Media Committee for the event, Alhaji Mohammed Bello said, “the roads within adavi and Okene as well as okehi (Fed roads) are terribly in poor shapes.The burial had to approach FERMA for remedial measures.”
The Secretary General, Central/Monitoring Committee for the event, Mr Thomas Omuya Ahmed, disclosed that tributes and testimonies for the late Justice would come up on Thursday at the Catholic Church, “right in front of the deceased’s house, Wuse Zone 2, from 5-6p.m.
“It will be followed by mass . After the Church prayer is wake keep in his residence, all are invited to join in the programme as scheduled,” he said.
Ahmed urged all sympathisers in Abuja, willing to travel on Friday with the convoy to Okene and wish to join the buses provided for the event to go to the residence of the late Justice Bello, to put down their names for the records and proper seating arrangements.
Other Committees, such as transportation, medical, reception, liturgical and accommodation, security among others,are also up and doing in honour of a man described by many as humane personified, God-fearing and whose death means a big loss to Ebiraland, Kogi State and Nigeria in general.
