British Governnent, Nasarawa Governnent to partner in agriculture, education

The British government has expressed preparedness to partner with the Nasarawa State government in the areas of Agriculture and Education to improve the living condition of its citizenry.

The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mrs Catriona Laing,announced this in a chart with Journalists in Lafia Wednesday.

Laing, who is on a two-day working visit to Nasarawa State, pointed out that the British government gave thought the idea of partnering with the state due to the huge potentialities the state possessed which if properly harnessed, would go a long way in improving the living condition of its people.

She further explained that due to the rich mineral deposits in the state, her government would be willing to partner with the state in such a sector which would be of great benefit to her country and the state.

Laing praised Governor Abdullahi Sule for the ongoing construction of bus terminus in Karu and Keffi Local Government Areas of the state which she noted would help greatly in reducing gridlock on the Keffi-Karu Highway.

Receiving the High Commissioner, Governor Sule, who was full of joy for the visit,said his administration also determined to ensure the total transformation of the economy of the state so as to create wealth and job opportunities for the people.

He thanked the UK government for its decision to investe in the state through partnership with the state, especially in the fields of Agriculture and Education,with a promise that the state would do everything within its limit to ensure the success of the partnership.
