Publisher to Nigerians—Show mercy to orphans,less privileged

The Publisher of the Nigerianpost Newspaper,a kogi state-based tabloid,Mr Abu Michael, has called on Nigerians to develop the culture of visiting orphanages to let them see the stark reality with some people and make life meaningful and easy for the less privileged in the society.

Any,who is also a former Chief Press Secretary to Arch. Yomi Awoniyi,one time Kogi State Deputy Governor,made the callwhen he paid visit to some orphanages in Lokoja, as part of activities to mark his 50th birthday.

The Journalist also charged Nigerians to be their brother’s keepers, insisting that nothing was too small to share with the orphans and other less privileged.

He urged the orphans not to despire about life, considering their present situation, but look at life with enthusiasm and hope, assuring them that they have hope with the opportunity given to them by the orphanage.

He described the living and welfare condition of the Stagi orphanage home and others visited as appreciative,and commended the management of the homes for a good job.

The publisher,who urged the management of the homes not to be tired with the fact that the the needed support from the public might not be forthcoming,but rest assured that “there is a promising future with consistency and diligent.”

Speaking on behalf of the management of the orphanages visited, Mrs Lara Owoshagba of Stagi Cornerstone orphanage home, urged other well meaning individuals to come to support the running of orphanage homes and commended the Publisher for his generous support to the home.

Our Correspondent reports that one of the highlights of the occasion was the donation of foodstuffs, beverages and juice for the upkeep of the children by the publisher.
