Emmanuel Kehinde, Ilorin

The Ilorin- born Dean, School of Education, University of Kigali, Rwanda, Prof. Abdulrazaq Olayinka Oniye, has hailed the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaj Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, for promoting peace and unity amongst his subjects.

Oniye, who was reacting to the conferment of chieftaincy titles on some sons of Ilorin by the Emir, said that the Monarch’s choice of recipients across the diverse walks of life would further engender unity amongst the people of Ilorin Emirate.

“I wish to felicitate with our father, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on the peaceful conduct of the Eid-ul-Adha 1442. May He and we, his subjects, witness many more prosperous years in our life under his development and unity-inclined reign.

” I wish to use this medium to rejoice with selected Ilorin sons across diverse walks of life who were recently found worthy by our father, the Emir of Ilorin,to be bestowed with important traditional or chieftaincy titles of the Ilorin Emirate.

“I felicitate with them and their families and join them to appreciate our father on their choices,” Oniye said.

While noting that the appointment was meant to acknowledge the recipients’ age-long contributions to the socio-economic and religious development of the Ilorin Emirate, Oniye added that the appointment was intended to motivate other well meaning sons and daughters of the community to keep working, publicly and secretly, toward the wellbeing of the Emirate, Kwara State, Nigeria and humanity at large

He charged the appointees not to relent in their services to God, the Emirate and humanity, reminding them that their appointment was a call for more dedicated service to their community and indeed humanity.
