The abducted first class traditional ruler in Kogi state, the Adogu of Eganyi, Ajaokuta Local Governnent Area of the state, HRH Muhammed Adambe, has regained his freedom.

Our Correspondent gathered that the royal father was released over the weekend, after 5 days in the Kidnappers den.

A source close to the palace quoted the traditional ruler as saying that after a very long and tortuous journey into the bush, his captors returned him to Ebiraland Saturday evening.

The source said that the royal father could not tell exactly where he was taken to but believed that it was outside Ebiraland.

He praised Almighty God for his safe return, adding that he came back unhurt.

The source could not say if the issue of ransom has any significant role to play in the regained freedom of the traditional ruler,as the Kidnappers had earlier demanded N30 million ransom before they could release him.

The online publication recalls that the Adogu was kidnapped on Tuesday along Okene – Ajaokuta road while returning, in his car, to his domain after an engagement in Okene.

The Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) for the Police Command in Kogi state, DSP William Aya, confirmed the story in a telephone interview with The Reporters on Sunday in Lokoja.

He said the news about the release of the traditional ruler was relayed to the command’s headquarters in Lokoja by the Divisional Police Officer(DPO) attached to Ajaokuta Local Governnent Area of the state.

Aya, however, said he was not aware of any payment of ransom on the issue.

Meanwhile, the family of another kidnap victim, the Managing Director,AZEC Phamacy in Okene, Abdulazeez Obajimoh, abducted in broad day in Okene, seven days ago, said they have not heard any information from his abductors.

A representative of the family, who preferred to remain anonymous, disclosed this to our correspondent in Okene on Sunday evening.
