The management of an NGO,Road Users Development Network of Nigeria(RUDN), have commended the the Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Cimmission (FRSC),Dr Boboye Oyeyemi for establishing an outpost at the Mararaba axis(FCT) in the ever busy Marara/Nyanya road to ease commutters’agony.
Mr Oche Emmanuel,Secretary General of the NGO,gave the commendation in a statement he signed in Abuja and a copy made available to The Reporters,an online publication in Lokoja on Friday.
RUDN expressed delight on the proactive action of Oyeyemi in listening to the cry of the masses, especially Nyanya – Mararaba axis by coming up to establish such an outpost on the axis.
” You have further exhibited good leadership qualities within and outside your organization, God bless you. With this initiative, residents along Mararaba axis downward will have a relief to enjoy free flow of traffic,” Emmanuel said.
Our Correspondent reports that commutters on Maraba/Nyanya road have been battling with inconviences traveling along the road, ranging from go slow to gridlock, a development that sometime result in man hour loses, psychological trauma among others.
Civil engineers and other concerned members of the public who spoke with The Reporters believed that the road could longer cope with the high level of vehicular and human movement and stressed the need for the federal government to dualise the facility, to make commuters experience less stressful traffic.
Our Correspondent also observes that the not-too-encouraging nature of the road has also given room for all manna of negative traffic such creating wrong lanes, lack of patient among motor, tricycle and motor cycle drivers on the road, which in some cases result in road accident,some fatal.
