Former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Prof.Charles Soludo, has emerged the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for November 6 Governorship election in Anambra State.

Correspondent of The Reporters reports that in the primaries of the party, conducted on Wednesday in Awka, Soludo, close to being 60 years, won with 740 votes out of the total number of 792 delegates accredited and voted during the exercise.

He defeated Ezenwankwo Christopher, who scored 41 votes, ThankGod Ibe with 4 votes, and Okolo Chibuzor, seven votes.

Our Correspondent further reports that the Governor of the state,Chief Willie Obiano, graced the occasion with other stakeholders of the party.

Our Correspondent reports that there was, however, a mild drama while the primary exercise was going on, when the national working committee of a faction of the party, led by Jude Okeke, pronounced the suspension of Soludo from the party.

Giving reason for the suspension of Soludo,Ikechukwu Chukwunyere, the national publicity secretary of the faction, said Soludo was suspended due to activities threatening the unity of the party.

Soludo, a professor of economics, February, this year, expressed his intention to run for the governorship election of Anambra state with a promise to use his international network connection to transform the state among other promises.
