An Islamic Cleric, Sheikh Muyideen Bello, has urged Nigerians to continue to show mercy to one another to ensure peace and development in the country
He also advised faithful to stay away from sins in order to be closer to almighty Allah, especially during Ramadan.
Bello gave the advice during the Annual Ramadan Lecture of Alhaja Idayat Bola-Muse, the Chief Executive Officer,Bomarah Group of Companies in Lagos on Sunday.
The cleric said the Ramadan period should be used to get closer to Allah for their prayers to be answered.
He also called on the Muslims to change their attitude, positively, toward all activities and believe that good things would fall in place.
“Allah says nothing is wrong with the situation, but people are responsible for the negative situations we are in right now.
“Everyone should be reminded that when we came to this world, we were naked, but Allah (God) enriches us as He wishes with money, successful children, shelter and richness.
“Allah says that if anyone refuses to appreciate Him for His kindness that, He will not do more for such person.
“Everyone should be reminded, at all times, that we were created from sand and we shall all return to sand,” he said.
The sheikh cited Quran 102 verses 1 to 8 said that “mankind would be pursuing life till we all enter our graves”.
