Ude-Akpeh urges Rotrarctors to serve humanity

Dr Emman Ude-Akpeh, Pioneer Past District Governor of Rotary International, District 9124 has called on Rotarctors of Nnamdi Azikiwe University School of Pharmacy (NAUSOPA) to see their training as a service to humanity.

He made the call on Friday in Agulu,Aniocha Local Governmnet Area of Anambra state during his lecture entitled, “My Rotary, My Pharmacy”.

Ude-Akpeh said the lecture was to mark the joint Rotary fellowship between NAUSOPA and Rotary club of Awka Smithtown as a parent body and to admonished the Rotarctors on what was expected of them.

Ude-Akpeh said as pharmacists in training, being members of a humanitarian organsation like Rotary International, it was pertinent for them to know a noble call to serve humanity in one’s profession.

“The idea of rotary is to use your classification to better the society you live in and apply the 4-Way Test in handling your clients at all time.

“You should know that all shades of people that come in contact with you must leave with smiles not in tears, you must build friendship in the course of your practice as a pharmacists,” he said

Miss Mmesoma Obumneke-okeke, Club President of NAUSOPA, presided over the meeting alongside Mr Chidi Obiudu, club president of Rotary Club of Awka SmithTown.

Obumneke-okeke reassured Ude-Akpeh of adherence,by pharmacists, to serving humanity in their training having in mind, “My Rotary, My Pharmacy”. as guide to remind them always, the néed to be in service to others.

Speaking earlier, Miss Chibuzor Onwudiwe, the charter president of NAUSOPA reminded the members that “rotary teaches people to be humble and flow with kindness.”

Onwudiwe assured the guests that the pharmacists would uphold the principles of rotary by applying the 4 way test of the organisation.

Mr Valentine Okudu, former District Rotract Representative (DRR) encouraged the members to always keep the eye on the golden rule of the orgainsation and embark on projects that would touch lives.

Okudu said that rotary forms members to be better citizens and advised the members to be diligent in their studies and come out fine to make the society better.

Mr Chisom Nwofor urged the members to be focused and leave a footprint worth emulating when the graduate out of school.

Mr Oluebube Obi said that rotary international had so much to give both youths and adults and advised the NAUSOPA members to be committed in their efforts to make the world a better place through their service to humanity.

Our Correspondent said highpoint at the occasion was the election of Mr Frank Nwajiobi ad the president and other officers for 2021/2022 rotary year and celebration of members born in April.
