Gan Allah Fulani Development Association of Nigeria ( GADFAN) has called on the federal and Oyo State governments to ensure the return of the displaced Sarikin Fulani Igangan, Alhaji Salihu AbdulKadir to Igangan in Ibarapa Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The Abuja- based GADFAN also asked the government to compensate the Sarkin Fulani Igangan for all the loses he and his people suffered during the alleged attack on their settlement by the. Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho.
It also demanded for all those involved in the unleashing of violence on Sarkin Igangan as well as the destruction of his property.
The association made the demands in a statement issued after the solidarity visit visit to Sarikin Fulani Igangan in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The National Chairman and National Secretary of GADFAN, Alhaji Sulaiman Yakubu and Ibrahim Abdullahi signed the statement.
” The GADFAN, therefore, calls on the Federal and Oyo State governments to ensure that justice is done to Alhaji Salihu AbdulKadir and his people.
“SundayIgboho and his boys should be apprehended and brought to book while that Sarkin Fulani Igangan and his people be compensated and returned to their homes.
” The attack led to the burning and total destruction of all his( Sarkin Fulani Igangan) houses, household items and his animals that include cows, sheep, goats,turkeys, a school, shops and a mosque; all worth over N500 million,”the association said.
GADFAN vowed to explore all peaceful and legal means to ensure that justice is done to all parties.
” We are already in consultation with our lawyers and we will soon take all the necessary legal steps if nothing is done by the relevant authorities to address the issue,” it added.
