Series of efforts being made the Yahaya Bello-led to reduce crime and criminality to the barest minimum in kogi state have received a boost with Chairman, Kogi State Security Trust Fund, Alhaji Teina Abdulmalik presenting 23 refurbished operational vehicles to security agencies in the state.
Abdulmalik said that the vehicles were aimed at enhancing security agencies’ operational efficiency in the fight against crime and criminality in the state.
At the presentation of the vehicles to the benefiting agencies at the Government House, Lokoja, the Chairman, commended the immense efforts and contributions of the security agencies in stemming crimes in the state.
He was, however, represented by the Public Relations Officer of the Fund, Mallam Aliyu Abubakar Musa at the occasion.
Abdulmalik noted that:“Kogi state has witnessed its fair share of criminal activities, ranging from kidnapping, cultism and communal crises, but our security agencies have been working round the clock to nip them in the bud.”
He expressed optimism that With vehicles, the security agencies would do more to secure the state.
Abdulmalik urged the security agencies not to relent in ridding the state of all forms of crime and ensure regular maintenance of the vehicles, promising that more of such utility vehicles would be procured for them.
The Fund’s boss thanked Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello for providing all the enablement to ensure the Fund achieve its mandate.
The Comptroller of Correctional Services, Kogi State Command, Alhaji Ahmed Musa,who spoke on behalf of other security agencies in the state lauded the proactive efforts of the Fund in curbing criminality in the state.
Musa,who noted that the gesture would serve as a motivation for the security agencies to redouble efforts in the fight against crime, pledged that the vehicles would receive regular maintenance to help the state government achieve the purpose they were meant for.
