Kidnapped kogi medical doctor regains freedom—PPRO

Dr Azubuike Joel Iheanacho, the Medical Director, Peace Hospital, Anyigba, kogi state who was kidnapped on Sunday in Anyigba has been released and reunited with his family.

The Police Public Relations Officer ((PPRO), for the police command in the state, DSP Williams Ayah, disclosed this in an interview with the correspondent of The Reporters in Lokoja on Tuesday.

He said the medical doctor was released on Monday around 9.40 p.m through the combine effort of the police and members of the vigilante in Anyigba and reunited with his family.

The police image maker also told the Reporters that immediately the command got wind of the kidnap of Iheanacho, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Edeh Ayuba, gave matching order to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) to launch manhunt for the release of the medical doctor.

“The matching order, coupled with the collaborative effort of the vigilante group led to the release of the medical doctor,”Ayah said.

He assured the public that the command had continued manhunt for the kidappers with a to bringing the kidnappers to justice.
