WHY MUST WE CLOSE THE EYES TO BE ABLE TO SLEEP?

This morning, I woke up thinking about why we must close the eyes to be able to sleep.
Ordinarily some persons will say it is because as long as we keep seeing things sleep will not come. Puzzled by this thoughts, I asked Google and the answer is that: Though there are people that cannot fully close their eyes in sleep due to certain medical condition, part of the reasons we close the eyes when we sleep, is to prevent light from getting to the brain.
Interestingly, I am completely blind. I cannot see the light even! yet I have tried sleeping with my eyes open, but I could not. So I conclude certain things just cannot be explained. I will like to say this is yet another nature’s puzzle.

Do not mind my inquisitive mind. I just want to start your day with some FOOD FOR THOUGHT. If you think you know why, please share.

It is a promising day house! Do not miss out of it.
