The Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has expressed grief over the death of the late Chief Judge of Kogi State, Justice Nasiru Ajanah who died in Gwagwalada during a brief illess.
The Governor made this known on Sunday in a condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Muhammed. Governor Bello in Lokoja.
He described the late Chief Justice as a legal icon who stood for the cause of justice and defended the Rule of Law while doing his best to smoothen collaboration between the Executive and Judicial arms of Governments as the State’s Chief Judge.
He noted that the late Chief Justice who had also served at the National level in several capacities,was as a fearless judge renowned for demanding discipline in his court and delivering thorough and sound judgments.
The Governor also noted that Kogi State had lost a legal luminary who bestrode the heights of his chosen profession like a colossus and cast his shadow far beyond the confines of the state.
Bello said that his administration would greatly miss Justice Ajanah’s wise counsel noting that the deceased served the state and the nation to the best of his abilities.
“History, he noted, would be kind to the memory of the late jurist,” Bello said.
Governor condoled with the family of the late Chief Judge, his Friends, the Kogi State Judiciary, the legal profession and to Nigeria as a whole.
Contributing, Sen.Mohammed salami Ohiare also condoled with the Ajanahs over the death of their illustrious son and the ebira race.
He described the deceased as a man of proven integrity,as the chief judge of the State, nothing that his death was a rude shock to the nation.
“He was a refined and gentle jurist who made his mark in our nation judiciary system.
Ohiare prayed Almighty Allah to grant the soul of Ajanah, rest in peace and give the family, and the people of Kogi central Senatorial district of the state the fortitude to bear the irrepàrable loss.
“Definately we shall miiss his wise counselling in all matters concerning his area of specializations.
“He was an enigma and a no nonesense judge who abhored criminality in any guise,” he said.
