COVID-19: Kwara Muslims observe Jumat prayer in mosques

Muslims in Kwara state have reopened mosques for Juma’at and other daily prayers, after closing such religious places for about three months to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

Duaglobalnews Correspondent, who visited some mosques in Ilorin metropolis, noted Muslims, however, maintained safety protocols aimed at checking the spread of Coronavirus.

Most of the mosques visited had hand washing point with water and soaps while the worshipers put on face mask in addition to observing social distancing.

In his Juma’at sermon,one of the clerics,Imam Abdulrafiu Abdulkareem-Oloduowo admonished Muslims to ensure that they observe all safety protocols, to protect them and others from contracting the deadly disease.

He advised them to contribute their own quota to prevent the spread of the pandemic,in accordance with Islamic teachings.

Imam Abdulkareem-Oloduowo also urged Muslims to intensify prayer for God to bring an end to the pandemic disease, in the country and the world at large.
