The Police Command in kogi state has advised members of public in the state with penchant for patronising roadside motor parks while embaking on journey to desist from such behaviour.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the command, DSP William Aya, gave the advice in a statement in Lokoja on Monday
He said the advice became necessary in a bit to curb all forms of criminality in the state.
Aya said: “The Kogi State Police Command wishes to advise members of the public, who may wish to travel, to endeavor to enter a vehicle at the recognised motor park to avoid been a kidnap victim.
” Credible intelligence reveals that, most of the victims of kidnapping enter vehicles by the road side and not at the recognised motor parks, therefore, the Commissioner of Police advised that people should always go to the recognised park to avoid been victims.
“Furthermore, members of the public are also advised to identify the colour of the vehicle, model of the vehicle, registration number they entered and text it to their relatives in case of any incident, to assist the security agencies.
“The Command also appealed to the members of the public to always avail the Police and other agencies with credible information on the activities of criminal elements in the state.
“The renewed commitment of the Kogi State Police Command to guarantee security of life and property remains unwavering.”
