Bloody clash between two rival cult groups in Kwarar claims one life

A bloody clash between suspected members of two rival cult groups in Ilorin, Kwara state, has led to the killing of an identified young man, Duaglobalnews reports.

An eyewitness account revealed that the incident happened within the premises of the section of Okelele Junior Secondary School Ilorin, in Ilorin East Local Government Area on Sunday.

The source, who said that the suspected assassins came in a tricycle, armed with the dangerous weapons, said the victim had been on assassin’s death list with his movement being closely watched before he was finally tracked down in the school.

The online gathered that the victim was strangulated and matcheted to death by his assailants.

An eyewitness also confirmed that clayed blood of the victim was seen at the scene of the incident, as a security personnel in the school said that police had arrested two suspects in connection with the incident and evacuated the remains of the deceased.

Speaking on the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) for the Police Command in the state,DSP Ajayi Okasanmi said that the command had commenced investigation into the matter.

The PPRO, who frowned at what he described as hurried burial of the victim by his relations, said that autopsy should have been carried out on the corpse before the burial.
