The North-Central Governor’s Forum has expressed shock over the demise of the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Malam Abba Kyari, who died on Fridayin a private hospital due to complications from deadly Corona Virus (COVID 19) and buried in Abuja on Saturday.
Kyari was among the first index cases of the dreaded Corona Virus, last month in Nigeria.
The Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Niger state, Alhaji Abubarkar Sani Bello, in a statement described Kyari’ as a rare statesman who stood by his Principal, President Buhari, through thick and thin.
Bello, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mrs. Mary Noel Berje, in Minna on Saturday, commiserated with Buhari, the deceased’sfamily, friends and Nigerians in general over the death of Kyari.
Eulogizing the exemplary leadership qualities and detribalized mien of late Chief of Staff to President Buhari, the North-Central Governors said the demise of late Abba Kyari was indeed a great loss to the nation.
The forumfurther said, “Late Abba Kyari was dedicated to nation-building and committed to national integration. He would be greatly missed by all, especially those who have had close working relationship with him”.
“The late Chief of Staff to President Buhari is a simple man to the core, straightforward and loyal officer whom his Principal trusted so much and had great confidence in him.”
The forum stressed that Kyari’s “rare selfless service would be greatly missed by all in the Presidency.”
While praying that Allah grant late Kyari peace and forgive him his shortcomings, the Governors sympathized with the immediate family he left behind, the President and friends.
The governirs urged them to take solace in the fact that ‘every living soul must one day taste death’.
The North-central Governor’s Chairman also prayed to almighty Allah to grant the deceased Aljannat Firdausi, the immediate and extended family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
