Ilorin
kwara state government has strengthened measures against the spread of Coronavirus by shutting down, totally, all its land boundaries to ensure effective realisation of its aims and objectives of the policy.
The Deputy Governor and Chairman, State Technical on prevention of Coronavirus,Mr Kayode Alabi, made the disclosure while briefing newsmen in Ilorin.
Alabi also said the state government had approved the fumigation of all markets and other areas to make them save for the residents.
He explained that all previous restriction orders earlier put in place by the state government were still in force.
The deputy governor promised that buses would be made available, by the state government, to ease movement of those on essential services; with strict adherence to the rules on social distancing and experts’ on how to avert the pandemic disease.
He said the committee would soon fashion out modalities for the distribution of parliatives to the residents to alleviate their suffering.
The deputy governor, however, advised those charged with the responsibility of sharing food items, from house to house, to desist from act capable of facilitating the process of spreading COVID-19 in the discharge of their assignment.
Duaglobalnews reports that Kwara state has no record of COVID-19 so far but the disease has registered 131 cases, 8 patients recovered while two have passed on in the country on account of contracting the disease
