COVID-19:OFU Chairmanship aspirant urges compliance to government directives against Coronavirus

The Chairmanship aspirant for Ofu Local Government Area , Mr Yunusa A. Yunusa, has urged the people of Ofu Local Government Area and Kogi State at large to comply with government directive on the dreadly Coronavirus to guarantee their health.

Speaking with newsmen in Lokoja,on Friday on the imperative of the order, Yunusa noted that only the living could go about normal life hence the need for the people to adhere strictly to the stay at home order.

The Chairmanship hopeful, who is coming on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC ), said the ban on public gathering such as religious and social gatherings was appropriate ” since prevention is better than cure.”

Yunusa admonished the people of Ofu and Kogi State at large to take all precautionary measures such as avoiding crowd, regular washing of hands and use of sanitizer among others serious to curtail the spread of the virus.

The Chairmanship hopeful lauded the efforts of the state government over the pandemic and thanked Governor Yahaya Bello for taking proactive position .

He expressed optimism that with the efforts of the state government so far, it would be difficult for the state to record any case of Coronavirus.

The aspirant,however, enjoined the committee put in place on the pandemic to ensure adequate sensitisation in all rural communities to conscientise the people about the dreadly disease.

This, he stressed, would enable the people to stick to the precautionary measures for the safety of their health and the public at large.

While appealing for continued prayers against the dreaded disease, the chairmanship aspirant assured that he would contribute his quota to ensure that “the virus does not raise its urgly head against his people.”
