Cleric, wife in police net for allegedly aiding kidnapping

A cleric aka”Woli Apara”and his wife, name withheld are now cooling it off in the police in kogi state for allegedly aiding and abbetting kidnappers in Ogo /Magongo Local Government Area in the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer for the Police Command in the state, Dsp. William Aya, told our correspondent on Friday in Lokoja.

He said that the cleric was arrested for allegedly providing information to the Kidnappers and his wifefor cooking for the kidnappers at their base in the bush.

Eye witness account told our correspondent that no fewer than 6 people were kidnapped along Ageva /Ogori road between March 12 and March 19,2020.

The kidnappers are said to have shifted their base to Okene -Ogori/Magongogo and Ageva-Ogori in the Central senatorial district of the state in the last two weeks.
The movement follows the bombardment launched on the kidnappers by security agents in the West and East senatorial districts of the state.

Impeccable sources told journalists that a woman was abducted along with her daughter on Akpafa Magongo road on March 12,2020.

The victims were said to have boarded a taxi cab and were on their way to Akpafa, the headquarters of the local government when they fell into the hands of kidnappers .

“On Friday 12th, another kidnapped incident took place in the evening along Magongo-Okene road and from there the kidnappers crossed over to Ogori road where their suspected camp is located.

Similarly, on March 17,at about 4.00 p.m, a man who was identified as Anchorman was kidnapped on his way back to Ogori from Okene on his motorcycle along Ogori-Okene road, among other kidnapping activities in the axis.

Duaglobalnews recalls that the state government in collaboration with the police, established two Mobile Police stationsin Okene, bordering Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area and on Kabba-Oshokoshoko road about two months ago.

The aim is to stamp out kidnapping and other crimes in the state.

Meanwhile, a source, who is an indgene of Ogori, told journalists in Lokoja that his people had embarked on anincreased prayer, God to deliver them from the hands of kidnappers and other criminal elements tormenting their lives in the are.
