Kogi State University, Anyingba says it has earmarked February 29,2020 for repentant cult members, including its members of staff and students to publicly denounce their membership of such fraternity.

Duaglobalnews recalls that worried by increasing number of cultism in the higher institutions in the state, the Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, gave the heads of tertiary state institutions marching order to wipeout cultism in their institutions latest by February 29,2020 or get the boot.

Bello gave the order when he surmoned them for a meeting in Lokoja about a month ago.

A circulated Internal Memo on Monday, signed by the Registrar of the university; Dr Yakub Abubakar said the planned event was part of the institution’s plan to stamp out cultism and ensure peace and security on the campus.

Abubakar urged members staff and students of the institution, who were involved in any cult activity, to take advantage of the forthcoming event to turn a new leaf.

He, however, warned that subsequent involvement would attract the full wrath of the law.

He said the event would take place 10 a.m at the University’s auditorium and advised members of the university community to attend.
