Ejiba
Two stalwarts of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi state: Messrs Toba Abraham and Joseph David, have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Making their known in Ejiba, Abraham said he and his colleague took the “painful decision” to support the Yahaya Bello-led government, because Bello had opened his hands to all Kogians to join him in his strive to transform the state to economically viable entity.
Abraham extoled the leadership qualities of former House of Representatives member, Hon. Karimi Sunday, who he said was largely instrumental to their defection.
He commended the governor for the establishment of the largest Rice Mill in Sub-Saharan Africa in Ejiba which he said had provided a lot of job opportunities for the teeming youths in the areaea and its environs.
Receiving the defectors, the APC Western Senatorial Zonal Chairman, Mr Femi Dele (Obantu) expressed delight over the decision of Abraham and his colleague.
Dele described Abraham as a political giant who had become a household name in Yagba West Loca Government Area, having being in the same party together in the past.
He congratulated the APC family in Ejiba ward and Yagba West for the development.
Mr Tunji Aro (IGWE),in his own remark, said with the mass defection of PDP members, led by Abraham,” PDP is buried in Ejiba ward.”
Administrator of Yagba East council,representedt by Chief Olu Ajakaiye, congratulated the APC family in Yagba Federal Constituency, describing “Toba as a loyal and workaholic politician whose loyalty is cherished by many.”
Among the dignitaries that received the defectors were: Chief S. O David, LGA party chairman, Korede Alabi, Janet Fagbemi (S.A women affairs), Segun Fayomi.
Others were: Ward Exco, WO2 Oluwole Samuel(rtd), APC Chairmen from Odo-Eri, Igbaruku/Iyamerin, Akuma-APC LGA Treasurer, Pst. Kingsley Ikusagba(S.A. Media),Yagba West and other party stalwarts across Yagba West.
