Kogi State governorship tribunal holding at Abuja has Adjourned to February 25 for hearing following conclusion on the pre hearing addresses by counsels to plaintiff and the defendants in the case.
The presiding judge, Justice Kashim G. Kaigama, before adjourning the sitting, granted ten days each for the counsels to the plaintive and the three defendants in the case, for cross examining the witnesses billed for appearance at the commencement of the hearing of the case.
The tribunal judge resolved that both parties to the case should utilise the window existing between the closure of the pre hearing and the hearing proper of February 25, 2020 to do the marking and scheduling of their respective documents, to determine their admissibility in their trial case.
He also ruled, on his discretion, to grant ten minutes each for cross examination of the star witnesses and five minutes for each of the other witnesses.
The counsel to the petitioner and PDP Governorship candidate, Engr. Musa Wada, Jibrin Okutepa (SAN) made submission to present 250 witnesses,along with volume of exhibits.
The counsel to the defendant and Governor Yahaya Bello, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joseph Daudu (SAN) and Alex Izeyon (SAN) also made submissions to present witnesses ranging from 100 to 200 witnesses to buttress their case.
The PDP Governorship candidate in Kogi state, Engr. Musa Wada had dragged the defendant, Governor Yahaya Bello, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the tribunal “to recover the mandate he believes belongs to him and his party, PDP.”
