KWSG moves to get polio free certificate-Dep. Gov

The Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Mr Kayode Alabi, has expressed commitment to eradicate polio in the state.
He made this known at the task force meeting on immunisation in his office in Ilorinat

He stressed that the present administration in the state had put all mechanism in place to ensure the realisation of that objective.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Health, Dr Raji Rasaq, said the state government had supported the Health sector through counterpart funding.

He said the state government also recognised the fact that ‘ a state with high community commitment’ needed more support coming from partners to improve service delivery to the people.

 

He urged the team charged with the responsibility of eradicating polio not to relent but strive to achieve 100 per cent coverage in the forthcoming National Immunisation Plus slated for 15th February 15,2020.

Raji further advisef the Deputy Governor who is the Team Leader on Task Force Immunisation in the state to throw his weight behind the successful implementation of Primary Health Care Under One Roof.

Meanwhile,the Executive Secretary, Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Abimbola Folorunso, thanked the state government over its health policy and programmed.

He noted that things had really improved but stressed the need for members of the team to work collectively in making Primary Health Care Under One Roof a reality.

Abimbola also called on all relevant stakeholders to push for success in the Immunisation coverage, saying that the Agency was preparing for the first Polio Campiagn in 2020 in a bid to ensure that the state get get Polio free Certification soon.
