Many residents of Lokoja, kogi state capital on Monday, sighed a relief following the restoration of potable water to many parts of the state capital.
Duaglobalnews correspondent in Lokoja reports that most residents had been without drinkable water for more than a week in what has been attributable to maintenance work at the water work in Lokoja.
Our correspondent who visited some areas in Lokoja such as Gadumo among others on Monday reports that many pumbs were seen running with water.
Some of the residents who spoke to the online media organisation, expressed relief as to the return of tap water to their homes.
Others said the development would also return the commercial life, which went ebb due to the scarcity to normalcy.
They, however, stressed the need for proactiveness in the maintenance of water work to check prolong scarcity of the commodity in future.
Lokoja harbours the confluence of River Niger and River Benue, where they flow as one to the Atlantic Ocean.
