The Senate of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, in Kogi State, has expelled eight students for their involvement in examination malpractice, underscoring its firm stance against academic dishonesty.
The decision was reached at the institution’s 30th Regular Senate Meeting held on April 29, 2026, in accordance with provisions outlined in the university’s Student Handbook.
In an official communication signed by the Deputy Registrar (Academics), Mr. Eli Gbadufu, the affected students were found guilty of examination misconduct during the First Semester examinations of the 2025/2026 academic session.
He noted that the students were subjected to a thorough investigation by the Examination Misconduct Committee, whose findings were subsequently reviewed and ratified by the University Senate.
Those expelled are:Ogedemgbe A. Nelson (100 Level, Economics); Yakubu Abdulrazak Adavize (300 Level, Library and Information Science); Olowu Samuel Ayomide (200 Level, Mining Engineering); Usman Bilal (400 Level, Information Technology); Adams Michael (200 Level, Information Technology).
Others are;Ale David (200 Level, Mechanical Engineering); Habiba Muhammed (100 Level, Business Administration); and Mustapha Faith Adetutu (200 Level, Agricultural Science).
University authorities reiterated their zero-tolerance policy towards examination malpractice, warning that any student found engaging in such acts would face strict disciplinary action.
The Senate urged students to adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity, emphasizing that the institution remains committed to producing graduates who are not only academically sound but also morally upright.
