Sanity Multi-Efforts President Links Mentorship to Broader Fight Against Road Extortion and Illegality.

During a recent meeting in Lokoja focused on the Sanity exercise and the fight against illegality in revenue collection, Prince Dan Olaitan Dada, President of Sanity Multi-Efforts Forum and MD of Sanity Multi-Efforts Ltd, reflected on his journey and paid tribute to the leadership that shaped his path in the mobile advert industry.

The Sanity exercise, Prince Dan explained, goes beyond mobile advertising. “Our Sanity exercise cuts across all sectors,” he said. “But in the area of mobile adverts and other areas of revenue on roads, we are committed to ensuring Nigerian roads become free from extortions, roadblocks, and other nuisances. That is the core objective of the Sanity organisation.”

It was within this broader context of reform that discussions turned to the role of mentorship in his involvement in the industry. Prince Dan acknowledged the pivotal role played by Otunba Mike Osimen Eboziegbe, President of the Forum of Mobile Advert Practitioners of Nigeria and President of the Harmonised Collation of Mobile Advert & Related Revenue Practitioners in Nigeria.

“From the moment I came to know Otunba Mike, I did not just see a leader of our industry,” Prince Dan said. “I saw a father, a pace-setter, and a man who stood firmly on the ground of truth even when it cost him insults, attacks, and bullying.”

According to him, there were moments when people tried to use Otunba Mike’s name to fight him, hoping the veteran leader would distance himself to protect his reputation. “But he did not bend. He examined the facts and declared: ‘If Dan is doing it right, I will support him.’ That is the mark of true leadership,” he stated.

Prince Dan recounted a personal experience that revealed Otunba Mike’s fatherly disposition. “I was his guest in his Lagos rated palatial. apartment, and he allowed me to sleep on the same bed with him. That kind of trust is rare in our industry, especially at a time when I had not yet become who God has made me to be today.”

He noted that Otunba Mike’s leadership was balanced with discipline. “When I erred, he corrected me with a firm hand. Yet he never abandoned me. He would say: ‘I like your wisdom. Make good use of it. Build yourself and become a leader of this industry when we are retiring.’ Those words have stayed with me and remain the reason I keep pushing forward.”

Prince Dan also highlighted how Otunba Mike’s belief in him opened doors with other industry leaders. He mentioned High Chief Obeto, Executive Director of the Forum; Chief GAO Ojoba, Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Chief Bartholomew Ehimare, President of VELARGE; Comrade Andrew Oare, Director General of the Forum and Chairman of the Harmonised Collation; and Commander Austin Michaels, whom he described as another leader who believed in him.

“They saw the potential in me because Otunba Mike saw it first,” he said. “The potential he saw in me has not died. It is growing, and by God’s grace, it will continue to grow.”

Speaking on the impact of Otunba Mike’s mentorship, Prince Dan said: “From his leadership I have gained drive, discipline, and dignity. He taught me that standing for truth is worth the battle and that integrity is the foundation of any lasting legacy.”

He concluded by praying for Otunba Mike’s long life and good health, stressing that the industry still needs his guidance. “History will remember him as a man who stood for truth when it was not convenient,” Prince Dan added.

The Lokoja meeting, which centered on strategies to curb illegal advertising practices and road extortion, also served as a platform for stakeholders to reflect on the values of integrity and collaboration needed to move the industry forward.
