A LEADER WHO CHOSE TRUTH OVER POLITICS:

Otunba Mike,

I write this with gratitude and with the burden of truth.

From the moment I came to know you, I did not just see a leader of our industry. I saw a father, a pace-setter, and a man who stood on the ground of truth even when it cost him insults, attacks, and bullying.

Many times, because of me, people spoke ill of you. They tried to use your name to fight me. They tried to turn you away from what was right, hoping you would abandon me to save your reputation. But you did not bend. You did not support evil against your fellow man.

Instead, you examined the facts. You weighed the truth. And you said it clearly:“If Dan is doing it right, I will support him.”

The Love and Discipline I experienced:
Otunba, let me place on record one of the greatest proofs of love you showed me. I was your guest in your Lagos apartment, and you allowed me to sleep on the same bed with you. In our industry, that is rare. It spoke to the depth of trust and fatherly love you had for me at a time when I was not yet who God has made me to be today – financially, morally, or in standing.

But your love was never blind. When I did wrong, you never pretended all was well. You handled me with a strong hand when you needed to. You corrected me, fought me when it was necessary, and yet you still called me back to love. You would say to me.“I like your wisdom. Make good use of it. Build yourself and become a leader of this industry when we are retiring.”

Those words have stayed with me. They are the reason I keep pushing.

The Family of Leadership who believe in me:
Because you believed in me first, others followed.
-High Chief Obeto, Executive Director of the Forum of Mobile Advert Practitioners, loved me.
Chief GAO Ojoba, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Forum, loved me.
Chief Batholomew Ehimare,VELARGE President loved me.
-Comrade Andrew Oare, Director General of the Forum and Chairman of the Harmonised Collation, stood with me.
– *Commander Austin*, another leader I hold in high regard, also loved me.

These are men of honour. They saw the potential in me because you saw it first. Otunba, you discovered me. You cared for me. You showed me love first, and they walked with me because they saw it was real.

The potential you saw in me has not died. It is growing, and by God’s grace, it will continue to grow.

The Impact you have had on me
Otunba, from your leadership I have picked up drive, discipline, and dignity. You showed me that standing for truth is worth the battle. You taught me that integrity is the foundation of any lasting legacy. Without your example, I may have wavered. But because you stood firm, I found my own courage.

M Prayer for you:
Otunba, I pray that God will keep you strong, give you long life, and preserve you for us. The thought of a day when I will no longer see your leadership pains me deeply. But I am not praying for that day soon. The industry still needs you. I still need your guidance.

To those who tried to drag your name through the mud because of me, I say this: history will remember you as a man who stood for truth when it was not convenient.

Thank you for standing by me when it was not easy.
Thank you for choosing justice over politics.
Thank you for being the man you are – a man of honour, a man of courage, a man of love, a man of leadership.

May God continue to bless you, protect you, and honour you in all you do, Sir.
