The Magongo Development Association (MDA) has extended warm New Year greetings to all indigenes of Magongo community in Ogori Magongo Local Government Area of Kogi State, wishing them a fruitful, peaceful and prosperous 2026.
In a New Year message, a copy of which was made available to The Reporters in Lokoja on Wednesday,the National President of the Association, Prince Jordan Alaba Akpata expressed deep appreciation to Magongo sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora for their steadfast support, unity and contributions to the growth of the community over the years.
He called on all indigenes to renew their collective commitment to the development of Magongo through joint efforts, stressing that sustainable progress can only be achieved through unity of purpose and shared responsibility.
Prince Akpata offered prayers for continued growth and strength of MDA branches, age grades and affiliated associations in the year ahead, describing them as vital pillars for community mobilisation and development.
While urging residents to celebrate the season with joy, the MDA President also advised the community to remain security-conscious, noting that peace and vigilance are essential for social and economic advancement.
He reaffirmed the commitment of MDA National to reposition Magongo and move the community to “the peak of her glory,” assuring that the leadership would continue to pursue initiatives that promote development, unity and inclusiveness.
The Association also commended individuals and groups who have independently executed various development projects in Magongo, acknowledging their selfless contributions as worthy examples of community spirit.
Looking ahead to 2026, Prince Akpata called for the submission of meaningful proposals ahead of the MDA National Conference, noting that innovative ideas and constructive engagement would help shape the future direction of the community.
He wished all Magongo indigenes a successful New Year filled with progress, peace and renewed hope.
