All Eligible CPS Pensioners Will Receive Full Entitlements by Dec. 20, 2025 — NUPCPS

The National Chairman of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) Pensioners, Comrade Sylva C. Nwaiwu, has assured such pensioners that the ongoing payment of pension increases and the N32,000 wage award is fully on course, with all eligible beneficiaries expected to receive their entitlements before December 20,2025.

According to the latest update, he made available to members in Abuja and The Reporters obtained a copy on Thursday, PENCOM is working relentlessly to overcome delays caused by inconsistencies among Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs).

He disclosed that the Commission is releasing the second batch of retirees’ lists in phases, adding that arrears of the N32,000 allowance are already being uploaded for immediate payment by PFAs.

The national chairman also disclosed that approval has been granted for the commencement of payments to retirees under MDAs funded through first-line charges.

He added that authority letters have been dispatched to self-accounting and self-funded organizations to enable them begin disbursement to their retirees without delay.

Comrade Nwaiwu said the union leadership has also met with key authorities and is set to hold an online meeting with leaders of the five CPS-compliant states, to ensure state-level pension increments commence in line with federal implementation.

He appealed for patience, saying that minor hitches may arise due to the scale of the nationwide payment ,the first of its kind for PFAs.

He urged members who have not completed their recapturing or signed their consent/payment agreement forms to do so promptly and.reminded members who have received the first batch of payment to redeem the agreed ₦10,000 appreciation levy for the planned solidarity event.

Comrade Nwaiwu,who reaffirmed that all outstanding payments will be made within December 2025, except for cases involving unresolved personal information issues with PFAs. expressed gratitude to God for the positive turnaround in the CPS sector and prayed for continued grace for all retirees.

He thanked members for their cooperation and assured them of sustained commitment to their welfare.
