Kogi Central Will Not Lose Power: History, Destiny, and the Hand of God Stand Firm

Those who eagerly wish that the governorship of Kogi State should slip away from the hands of Kogi Central will, once again, meet disappointment.

For every election, our brothers in Kogi East rally behind themselves with one voice and one conviction , believing the next governor will surely emerge from their zone. But sadly, within Ebira land, the wish has always been otherwise.

During the first tenure of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello (GYB), many already began projecting Captain Idris Wada as the “next governor,” insisting that GYB could never return for a second term. To the glory of God, GYB not only returned, he did so with a resounding mandate.

When they claimed the Supreme Court would strip him of victory, he triumphed yet again, winning every single legal battle.

Before the close of his second tenure, some among us had already shifted loyalty, posting Hon. James Faleke’s pictures and lobbying him as the next governor. But destiny had other plans , Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo emerged as the APC flag bearer.

Suddenly, attention shifted to Muri, who left APC for SDP, with whispers that his marriage ties and closeness to the Presidency would secure the governorship for him. Yet, when the ballots were cast, it was Ododo who stood tall as the people’s choice, and when the courts were called upon, he stood unshaken, winning at every stage.

Today, Governor Ododo is still in his very first tenure, yet some of our own Ebira people have already begun campaigning for Faleke, belittling the governor’s strength and undermining his capacity to seek a second term.

But let it be known: at the end of the day, all such hopes will crash in disappointment. The real tragedy is not that outsiders doubt us, but that some Ebira themselves are desperate to see power leave Kogi Central , not because of fairness, not because of equity, but simply because they do not belong to the right camp.

History has spoken, and it will continue to speak. Those who underestimate the will of our people, and the hand of God in the affairs of Kogi Central, will always find themselves defeated by reality.

For those who think I support APC in Kogi because I’m a party member or benefiting from government, let me be clear , I belong to no party and I gain nothing directly from the government.

I chose to stand with Governor Ododo and FGYB because I believe Kogi Central has long been marginalized, and it is our time to shine.

My support is not for personal gain, but for love of my people, and I will proudly continue to do it .
