The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, on Tuesday, decorated newly promoted Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) at a ceremony held in Lokoja, the state capital.

The decoration ceremony, which marked a significant career milestone for the officers, was attended by family members, colleagues, and senior officers of the command.

Speaking at the event, CP Dantawaye urged the promotees to uphold the values of discipline, professionalism, and commitment to duty, stressing that their new ranks come with greater responsibilities.

“Promotion is not just a reward but a call to higher leadership and professionalism. You are expected to deliver more in safeguarding lives and property across Kogi State,” he said.

The police chief commended the officers for their sacrifices, dedication, and outstanding performance which, he noted, earned them recognition and elevation by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

Responding on behalf of the newly promoted officers, DSP Kai Bernard, the Administrative Officer of Imane Division, expressed gratitude to the IGP and the Police Service Commission for the promotion. He assured that they would redouble their efforts in fighting crime and ensuring peace and security in the state.

“We see this elevation as both an honour and a challenge. We are committed to justifying the confidence reposed in us by working harder to make Kogi safer,” Bernard said.

In a statement signed by the Command’s spoke man,SP.William Aya, the event ended on a celebratory note as families and colleagues joined in marking the officers’ new career heights, which symbolise their dedication and service to the nation.
