The Daura Emirate Development Forum has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as a beacon of integrity, patriotism, and service whose impact will be remembered for generations.

In a condolence message issued on behalf of the forum, and a copy made available to The Reporters on Tuesday, sympathies were extended to His Royal Highness, the Emir of Daura, the Buhari family, and all Nigerians on the passing of the late president.

The forum described the former president as a distinguished ambassador of the Daura Emirate, noting that throughout his life, Buhari demonstrated unwavering commitment to the growth and progress of both his hometown and the country at large.

“President Buhari’s legacy in infrastructure development and political leadership remains unmatched.

“His efforts significantly transformed the socio-economic landscape of Daura and Nigeria, and his good deeds will continue to motivate us all,”the statement read.

The forum also prayed for the repose of Buhari’s soul, asking Almighty Allah to grant him Jannatul Firdausi and give the nation the strength to bear the monumental loss.

President Muhammadu Buhari, who hailed from Daura in Katsina State, served Nigeria as a military ruler from 1983 to 1985 and later as a democratically elected president from 2015 to 2023. His passing marks the end of an era in Nigeria’s political history.
