Malagi Tasks APC Information Commissioners on Strategic Communication to Amplify Tinubu’s Achievements

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi, has emphasised the need for all Information Commissioners in All Progressives Congress (APC)-controlled states to adopt a strategic approach to communication.

He said this is essential for effectively conveying the policies and achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration across the country.

Information commissioners in the country to have strategic communication to effectively convey the policies and achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration across the country.

Malagi the advice on Thursday at the opening ceremony of the quarterly meeting of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) with the Commissioners in APC controlled states.

The event, held at Guddel Hotel, Minna, Niger State, has the theme, “Strategic Communication and Policy Alignment.”

Describing the two-day conference as both timely and strategic, the Minister said it presents a critical opportunity to strengthen the APC-led administration’s national communication framework.

Reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, Malagi highlighted several key initiatives,including the removal of fuel subsidy, increased infrastructure investments, and impactful social intervention programmes, that have not been adequately reported.

“Over 900,000 Nigerians have already benefited from the Presidential Conditional Grant and Loan Scheme, more than 300,000 students are receiving support through the new Student Loan Programme,”he stated.

He also called on the Information Commissioners to return to their respective states with renewed vigor and a clear strategy for mobilizing citizens to take advantage of opportunities provided under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Earlier in her remarks, Niger State Commissioner for Information, Hajiya Binta Mamman, stressed the importance of effective information management and dissemination, noting that without it, the developmental strides of any government risk going unnoticed and unappreciated.

The Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umar Bago, was represented at the event by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman.
