In a heartfelt gesture of solidarity with disaster victims, former Governor of Anambra State and 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has donated N20 million to victims of the recent flash flood that devastated Mokwa communities in Niger State.
Obi, who arrived in Minna on a condolence visit, was warmly received at the Government House by the state Deputy Governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba. Expressing deep sorrow over the tragic loss of 153 lives in the disaster, Obi conveyed his sympathies to the government and people of Niger State.
In his remarks, Obi prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed souls and asked God to grant their families the strength to bear the immense loss.
Receiving the donation on behalf of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago and the people of the state, the Deputy Governor, Yakubu Garba, extended profound gratitude to Mr. Obi for his generous support.
He lauded the former Anambra Governor for his compassion and unwavering love for humanity, particularly in reaching out to those impacted by natural disasters.
