NUJ President Tasks Journalists To Abide By Ethics of Duty

The National President of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Alhassan Yahya-Abdullahi, has tasked Members to abide by the ethics of the Media profession in the discharge of their duties.

He gave the task on Monday when selected executive members of Crime Reporters Global, Nigeria, paid him a congratulatory visit in Abuja.

Comrade Alhassan, however ,appealed to Journalists to be thorough in their task of holding government and institutions accountable on behalf of the people.

“Investigative Journalism is a job that requires doggedness and perseverance such that whatever is coming out of the story,after investigation, is truth and nothing but the truth,” he stressed.

The NUJ President promised to partner with relevant associations to build capacity of members in order to take the profession to greater heights.

The Delegate of the Exco members, led by the Chairman, Comrade Tita Onyebuchi, Nze and the Secretary, Barth Ikiebe, congratulated Comrade Alhassan for the victory and hoped to extend its support for a vibrant and purpose driven NUJ ahead.

Other members in the team include: Ambassador Samuel Eniola, Director Projects, Crime Reporters Global, Nigeria who doubles as the Chairman, POCACOV, South West and Lady Ego of Crime Reporters, Abuja.

They prayed for a resourceful and remarkable tenure of the new NUJ national executive, led by Comrade Alhassan Yahya-Abdullahi.
