Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has urged political appointees and leaders in the state to prioritize transparency, accountability, and inclusivity in their roles to enhance good governance and build public trust.

The Governor made the call while inaugurating a three-day Leadership Retreat and Ministerial Briefing for commissioners, special advisers, and directors-general of government agencies and parastatals.

The retreat, themed “The Advance New Direction for Continuity and Consolidation to Strategic Development,” aims to sharpen the skills of the appointees for improved performance and productivity.

Represented by the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Dr. Folashade Ayoade, Ododo emphasized that the retreat is a step towards collective commitment to the development of Kogi State.

He reaffirmed that his administration’s focus on productivity and infrastructure is designed to lay a solid foundation for the state’s transformation.

“Our collective efforts must now focus on positioning the state for greater accomplishments. “That is why I have appointed capable individuals to help drive this administration forward,”Ododo stated.

The Governor expressed confidence that the retreat would strengthen the leadership and ministerial capacity of the participants, fostering collaboration and ensuring sustainable progress.

“Together, we can achieve significant strides for the betterment of Kogi State,” he assured and further urged the appointees to seize the opportunity of the retreat to contribute to the state’s accelerated development.
