Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, the Wife of the Kogi State Governor, has praised women for their significant contributions to family stability and societal growth.

She gave the praise during her visit to the Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Lokoja, where she donated ante-natal kits, medical supplies, food items, beverages, and cash to 200 patients across various wards, including paediatric, emergency, maternity, labour, and ante-natal units.

Mrs. Ododo said that the visit was a gesture of empathy and a reflection of the message from Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, encouraging women nationwide to remain industrious and supportive of their families.

“My visit here today is to extend my little support to our pregnant women, nursing mothers, and other patients in this hospital,” she said.

She also called on women to support their husbands through prayers, love, and respect while upholding their roles as homemakers.

Mrs. Ododo urged prayers for the success of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, noting that his administration prioritizes the welfare of the populace through health programmes aimed at reducing financial burdens and improving healthcare access, especially at the grassroots.

“I urge you to continue to support and pray for His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for him to succeed and continue to support our community and our people,” she said.

Commending the hospital’s Chief Medical Director, Prof.Yahaya Isa Adagiri, and the staff for their dedication, the first lady encouraged nursing and expectant mothers to prioritize their health, emphasizing its importance to family well-being.

Some beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the timely support, particularly during the festive season.

Prof. Adagiri thanked Mrs. Ododo for her consistent efforts to uplift women and families in the state, noting her impactful interventions.

This visit underscores the state government’s commitment to empowering its citizens, particularly women and children, through meaningful support and healthcare initiatives.
