The Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has announced the deployment of 1,850 personnel to ensure a secure and peaceful yuletide celebration in the state.

This was revealed in a statement by the State Commandant, Esther Akinlade, through the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Abdullahi Aliyu, in Lokoja.

According to her,the personnel are drawn from various specialized units, including Operations, Special Rapid Response, Agro Rangers, Female Squad, Intelligence, and Critical National Assets Infrastructure departments.

Commandant Akinlade stressed the collaborative efforts between the NSCDC and other security agencies to maintain a crime-free environment during the festive season, particularly given Kogi State’s strategic location, bordering nine states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

She advised youths to avoid unlawful activities and warned that offenders would face strict legal consequences.

The Commandant encouraged the public to celebrate responsibly and share credible information about any suspicious activities or criminal hideouts to enhance security and sustain the prevailing peace in the state.
