Niger Tornadoes’ Head Coach, Majin Mohammed, credited the team’s emphatic 4-1 victory over Sunshine Stars to a collective effort from the club’s management, coaching staff, and players.
Speaking with journalists after the NPFL Matchday 17 clash at the Bako Kontagora Stadium, Majin emphasized the team’s commitment to maintaining dominance in home fixtures. “The victory was a result of collective efforts from the management, coaches, and players,” he noted.
He also highlighted the tactical adjustments that proved pivotal. “Some players have been overplayed, so we made changes to give others a chance, and they delivered,” he said, praising the new faces for their determination to secure spots in the squad.
Having prepared thoroughly, the Tornadoes anticipated Sunshine Stars’ resilience following their recent draw against Enyimba. “We knew they’d come with the same mentality, so we approached the game with all seriousness,” Majin added.
The Tornadoes wasted no time, scoring four goals within the first 30 minutes to effectively seal the game. Sunshine Stars’ Sodiq Ibrahim managed to score a consolation goal in the second half, but it was too little, too late as the hosts maintained their grip on the game.
The win strengthens Niger Tornadoes’ position on the league table as the first stanza of the season draws to a close.
