Tinubu Applauds NNPCL on Port Harcourt Refinery Revival, Urges Speedy Completion of Other Refineries.

President Bola Tinubu has commended the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) for the successful revitalization of the Port Harcourt refinery, highlighted by the commencement of petroleum product loading on November 26.

In a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy,in Abuja on Tuesday,Tinubu acknowledged former President Muhammadu Buhari’s role in initiating the comprehensive rehabilitation of Nigeria’s refineries and expressed appreciation to the African Export-Import Bank for financing the critical project.

The President praised NNPCL’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari, for his dedication in overcoming challenges to achieve this milestone.

He urged NNPCL to accelerate the reactivation of the second Port Harcourt refinery, along with the Warri and Kaduna refineries, emphasizing the importance of enhancing domestic production capacity and positioning Nigeria as a major energy hub.

Tinubu reiterated his administration’s commitment to repairing Nigeria’s refineries, promoting energy sufficiency, and boosting export capacity.

He called on all stakeholders to uphold values of integrity and accountability, aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda for shared economic prosperity.
