The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has directed the immediate restoration of electricity to Abejukolo, the headquarters of Omala Local Government Area.
The governor gave the directive when he visited Onu Ife and Chairman of the Omala Local Government Traditional Council in Abejukolo,His Royal Highness, Boniface Musa.
Governor Ododo pledged to establish a committee to expedite the restoration process and address the hardship caused by 11-year of power outage.
Ododo ,who emphasized the necessity of electricity to the community development and crime prevention,urged traditional rulers to continue providing critical information to security agencies in helping to combat criminal activities.
Receiving the governor, the Onu Ife, expressed gratitude to Governor Ododo for his visit, which he said brought hope to the people of Omala.
The traditional ruler also commended the governor for restoring peace to Bagana and Odo districts through the deployment of military personnel.
The Royal father ruler also lauded the governor for awarding the contract for the rehabilitation of Abejukolo township road and lifting the suspension order on him.
Our gathered that Abejukolo has been in a prolonged blackout since 2013 due to unresolved disagreements between the Abuja Electricity Regulatory Commission and its Jos counterpart.
