The Senate Committee on Federal Character and Intergovernmental Affairs has unanimously expressed its confidence in the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), praising its transparency, prudence, and outstanding performance.

The Chairman of the Committee, Senator Allwell Onyesoh, delivered the commendation on behalf of the members following an oversight visit to the FRSC in Abuja on Wednesday.

The committee members expressed delight over FRSC’s disciplined workforce, its high level of professionalism, and the civility with which it operates.

Particular praise was directed at the FRSC Corps Marshal, Malam Shehu Mohammed, for his clear and transparent presentation of the 2024 budget performance, which they described as “smart and transparent.”

“The Corps deserves recognition for a job well done,” the committee remarked, and it called for increased budgetary allocation and enhanced staff welfare. They encouraged the Corps Marshal to continue improving performance and service delivery, positioning the FRSC as a symbol of hope for the country.

In his response, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed expressed gratitude for the support and recognition, acknowledging the Committee’s dedication to Nigeria’s unity and the FRSC’s mission. He reaffirmed his commitment to improving road safety and ensuring that Nigerian roads remain safe for all users.
