Unilorin VC Mourns Passing of Founder of Ahman Pategi University.

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has extended the is heartfelt condolences to the Ahman Pategi University community, following the passing of its founder and Pro-Chancellor, Hon. Aliyu Bahago Ahman Pategi, who died on Thursday at 59.

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has extended heartfelt condolences to the Ahman Pategi University community, following the passing of its founder and Pro-Chancellor, Hon. Aliyu Bahago Ahman Pategi, who died on Thursday at age 59.

In a statement from Mr. Kunle Akogun, Director of Corporate Affairs, Prof. Egbewole, who also chairs the Consortium of Kwara Universities (KU8+), described Ahman Pategi’s death as a “rude shock and a sad loss.”

He commended Pategi’s dedication to education and community service, emphasizing that his legacy will resonate deeply within the KU8+ network and beyond.

“The loss of Alhaji Ahman Pategi is profound, not only for his family but also for Kwara State and Nigeria’s higher education landscape,” Prof. Egbewole remarked.

He also extended sympathies to the Etsu Pategi, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Bologi, and the Patigi Emirate, recognizing the late lawmaker’s contributions to educational and social advancement in his community.

Prof. Egbewole offered prayers for divine mercy upon Ahman Pategi’s soul and comfort for his loved ones, honoring him as a respected leader and an “illustrious son” of Patigi.
