The Police Command in kwara state has made significant progress in three separate murder investigations, leading to the arrest of eight suspects.

According to Commissioner of Police in the state,CP Victor Olaiya, six suspects were arrested in connection with the murder of Awesu Mojisola, a 21-year-old student from Kwara State College of Health Technology.

He said Mojisola was reportedly lured to Ilorin by Adebayo Joshua Happiness, an expelled student from Summit University, Offa, who promised her N15,000 to attend a sign-out party.

The suspects face charges of criminal conspiracy, theft, false personation, and culpable homicide,he added.

In a separate case, Ajiro Kayode, a driver for the late Chief Abraham Babatunde, was arrested for alleged murder of his employer, Babatunde.

Kayode is accused of attacking Babatunde with a plank, resulting in his death, and then staging the scene to appear as it is an accident.

In another development, the police arrested Abolarin Samuel Idowu, a suspected member of the notorious Eiye secret cult, for the alleged murder of Anthony Kayode Balogun.

The police recovered several items from the crime scene, including locally made guns, cartridges, and suspected narcotics, according to the CP.

He said Idowu and his accomplices face charges of criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, armed robbery, and illegal possession of firearms.

CP Olaiya stated that all eight suspects would be charged in court once investigations are completed.

He reassured the public of the Command’s commitment to justice and maintaining peace and security in the state.

He urged any member of the public with relevant information about the cases to come forward, adding that the breakthroughs reflect the Command’s dedication to addressing crime and securing justice for victims and their families.
