Former Schoolmate of Governor Ododo, Now an Okada Rider, Complains ill-health,Seeks Help.

Usman Mohammed, 42, a father of four and a 2004 HND graduate in Accountancy, regrets that he has faced significant challenges in his life so far despite his academic qualifications.

Mohammed, who said he was aspired to be an accountant by a local banker during his youth, added he found himself unable to secure employment in his field, despite numerous job applications over the past decades.

Speaking with some journalists at the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ in Lokoja recently, Mohammed revealed that after graduation, he struggled to find job but all with no avail the circumstance that force him venture into commercial motorcycle business, commonly known as Okada, to support his family.

Reflecting on his past, the 2004 HND holder turn Okada rider, recalls his time studying at the Federal Polytechnic Bida, describing himself as a dedicated member of the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria and a classmate of Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.

“In the school then,I remember vividly that Mal.Ahmed Usman Ododo was a generous and supportive peer who often helped fellow students.

” From my impression of him, even as the governor of kogi state, he has not deviated from his characteristic gesture to other without borders,” he recalled with nostalgia.

Mohammed however,noted with regret that of recent,his Okada business has become increasingly difficult to manage due to his age health and harship economic situation in the country.

He said despite his contributions to Governor Ododo’s political campaign which contributed to Ododo’s electoral victory, he has been unsuccessful in his various attempts to reach the governor for assistance.

In a heartfelt appeal, Mohammed expressed his hope that Governor Ododo, known for his generosity even in modest circumstances, would be able to provide him with much-needed help, especially public job.

” I am praying, hoping and being optimistic that if His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, get to read this interview,he will respond positively towards making changing my life for good so that I see light at the end of dark tunnel of my life.

“This is because it has not been easy with me and my family navigating our ways through the current turbulent economic water of the country,” he said.

Mohammed reiterated his pledge to mobilize his colleagues in Okada business to support the governor’s administration and remain law-abiding, noting that the positive changes and developments under Governor Ododo’s leadership has endeared him to millions of kogites.
